Diagon Alley Tours!

Mundungus stood behind a cart in Diagon Alley and wondered how it had ever come to this.  He was almost driven to making an honest living.

"Tours!" he bellowed pathetically.

He wasn't cut out for this.

"Tours of Diagon Alley!"

"Uncover the Wonders of the Wizarding World!"

He shoved a pamphlet into yet another unsuspecting hand.

"A tour!" Sam exclaimed, dragging his stunned sister toward the dodgy-looking man in the middle of the street.

It had taken him precisely half a second to process the existence of what the gentleman who'd turned up at their house last week had called the Wizarding World, before he hurriedly corrected himself.  Catherine hadn't been as quick on the uptake and was still gawping at every fountain of sparks in Diagon Alley.

"Come on, a tour," he reiterated.  "I bet by the time it's finished we'll know where to get all that stuff."

He pointed to the school list that had been entrusted - rather unfairly, he thought - to Catherine instead of him.

"Watch it!" Alex muttered grimacing as a not overly hand thrust a pamphlet into her hand. Absently, she wiped her hand down the front of her jeans, studying the paper. "Just what I needed." Having no intention of spending her entire day mucking around Diagon Alley, looking for shops that everyone her age just knew the location of was not her plan. Plus, prior recon of a place was essential to her, a principle of being an Auror so ingrained in her subconscious it was almost in her blood. "Oi! Where do we sign up?" She called out to the man handing out the pamphlets, walking back slightly to get back in his vicinity. 

She gave a friendly nod to the others waiting, decided to reply that she was a foreigner if people wondered why someone her age was taking a tour so obviously meant for the First Years.

Mundungus squinted at the newcomer, wondering if he'd seen her somewhere before.  However, she didn't seem about to accuse him of anything, so he put the thought aside for the time being.

"Five galleons for adults, love," he told her.  "Just wait here with the others, we get underway shortly."

Alex raised a curious eyebrow as the guy squinted at her. What in the name of bloody hell? Do I know him? She thought, squinting back at him. "Heeeeeey." She dragged the word out slowly, trying to think back but all her memories were blocked by a frustrating blank wall. "Do I know you?" 

"5 it is, and I will cut a galleon for each time you call me 'love'." She answered, holding out the money and glancing around. "What all do you cover on this tour?"

Sam leaned closer partly because he, too, wished to know what wonders this tour would show him, and partly just on general principles that two adults speaking was bound to be worth listening to.

Mundungus took the girl's question as an opportunity to attract more bystanders.  

"All the marvels of the wonderous Diagon Alley!" he bellowed with an expansive gesture.  "Where to go, what to do, and my patented tips for getting your school supplies for half price!"

"Not that you'll need that last one," he added.
